Jeffrey Littman

Jeffrey Littmann’s dedication to Michigan Tech and unwavering support of students and alumni has been highlighted through his years of service to the University, truly embracing the spirit of what it means to be a Husky at every opportunity.

Littmann has served on the Michigan Tech Board of Trustees since 2019, with his appointment through 2026, and is the chair of the audit and finance committee. Highly trusted and respected by his peers, Littmann was elected and served two consecutive terms as chair of the Board of Trustees, leading with his vision for how Michigan Tech will grow in a disciplined and sustainable way, embracing the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and remaining “True to Tech.”

As a member of the Board of Trustees, Littmann also serves ex officio on the Michigan Tech Fund Board of Directors and contributes his financial expertise to its investment committee. Through his work on the committee, Littmann’s leadership focuses on ensuring the strength and sustainability of the endowment—not only serving the immediate needs of the University, but preserving it for years to come.

“Tomorrow truly needs Michigan Tech,” said Littmann. “For Michigan to prosper for generations to come, and to provide our children and grandchildren the quality of life we have enjoyed, Michigan will need the energy and creativity of Huskies.”

Littmann received his BS in Accounting and MS in Taxation from Walsh College, and later an Honorary Doctorate in Law from the same university. Additionally, he received a Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the Detroit College of Law.

From 1974–82, Littmann held several financial management positions with Ziebart International, an international franchising organization, where he supported research, manufacturing, distribution, and sales. He worked as a tax professional at Arthur Anderson from 1982–86, specializing in closely held business entities, and served as a national manager on the firm-wide specialist teams for professional sports, subchapter S corporations, and capital cost recovery.

Littmann has made a tremendous impact on many organizations serving executive and board positions, including but not limited to:

  • Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation — Life Trustee, Past Chair of the Board of Trustees, and current Chair of the Finance & Investment Committee
  • Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Trust — Trustee and Chairman of the Board
  • Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Enterprises, LLC — VP and CFO, President, and Board Member
  • Buffalo Bills, Inc. — CFO and Member of the Board of Directors
  • Interstate Highway Construction, Inc. — Treasurer and Board Member
  • National Football League — Member of the Executive Committee, Investment Committee, and Collecting Bargaining Working Club Executive Committee

Additionally, he has served multiple community positions at organizations like the St. John Health Foundation and System, the Grosse Pointe Club, and the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.

On top of his work as a Trustee, Littmann and his family have provided philanthropic support to the Tech Trails, Outdoor Adventure Program, and the Mushing Club at Michigan Tech, enhancing the experience for both students and community members. Thanks to their generous donation, the University renamed a section of its trails to the Littmann Gateway Loop, which connects the primary trailhead to dozens of other loops that provide miles of recreational opportunities.

“As we reflected upon how to bring joy to the students here at Tech, we naturally gravitated toward the sources of that joy in our lives — outdoor recreation, physical fitness, and dogs,” said Littmann, at the Littmann Gateway Loop dedication ceremony in August 2023. “We saw last winter the broad participation taking place here on the trails and the unifying effect this place can have.”

Littmann and his wife Cynthia reside in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and have had their second home in Luce County for 25 years. As a self-proclaimed “Yooper Want-To-Be”, he is an avid pilot and enjoys tennis, hunting, fishing, boating, and other outdoor pursuits.

In recognition of his contributions to Michigan Tech, Littman will receive the Honorary Alumni Award in August 2025.
