Why did you choose Michigan Tech?
Education. I chose the education over a division 1 football scholarship.
Please tell us about a memorable experience you had during your time at Tech.
Stepping onto the football field for the first time and recording my first tackle
in a game after coming back from ACL surgery. The feeling was surreal.
How well did Michigan Tech prepare you for your career?
For me it prepared me by taking me out of my element. The drive was always there.
The knowledge was always attainable. The seclusion, yet family environment allowed
me to be able to adapt to whatever situation is thrown my way.
What was your first job after graduation and how did you secure it?
US Navy. I enlisted after 9/11.
Tell us about a few of your career highlights and notable achievements.
In the Navy I was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, and Global War on Terrorism
and Expeditionary medals. As a sound engineer I have worked with 2 Chains, Malice
of the Clipse, Chad of the Neptunes, and the Lost Boyz.
What advice on being successful would you give to Tech students and young alumni?
Fight! Like your life depends on it. Fight for every grade, every job opportunity,
every ounce of respect. Nothing is given freely so the cost is always persistence.
