When the flakes begin flying, we Huskies couldn’t be more excited. How much snow do you think we’ll get this year? Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and Michigan Tech retirees are invited to submit their guesses during our annual Snowfall Contest, which begins as soon as the snow does each season. If your prediction is closest to the actual snowfall total for 2018–19 without going over the amount you win!
The Snowfall Contest is now closed.
Thank you for your interest in the Michigan Tech Snowfall Contest. On June 1, the winner will be chosen from all the entries submitted. A consolation prize will be chosen from all the entries submitted.
A two-night stay in a Memorial Union or Wadsworth Hall guest room, a $50 gift card to the University Bookstore, a limited-edition husky statue snow globe, and a deluxe Michigan Tech Winter Survival Kit complete with hoodie, gloves, hat, scarf, blanket and snow brush.
A mini version of the winter survival kit will be awarded to a contest participant chosen at random from among all entries.
Maximum of three entries per person must be submitted by midnight February 15, 2019. Winners will be chosen June 1, if the snow has stopped by then. The guess closest to the Keweenaw Research Center recorded total, without exceeding the actual amount, earns first prize.
University Advancement and Keweenaw Research Center staff and student employees are ineligible.
