Welcome to Michigan History Day District 1!
Through the National History Day program, students gain the skills to understand the world around them with a more analytical eye. They ask questions about the past, make connections with today, and are inspired to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Michigan History Day® is a project-based yearlong educational program that encourages students to explore local, state, national, and world history. In the District 1 event, usually held in late winter, students from across the Western U.P. present their projects on the campus of Michigan Tech with judges who are museum professionals, State and National Park employees, and college professors. Join us for a rewarding experience that connects our shared past with the present and the future!
