Semester Payment Plans

Michigan Tech offers a 4 payment plan option during Fall and Spring semesters and a 3 payment plan option for the Summer semester.  Eligible students can enroll in a payment plan through their Michigan Tech Student Bill in Experience once each semester's bill is made available.

Please review your payment plan amounts and due dates by clicking the Payments Page – Student Bill/Confirm Enrollment link on your Billing & Payments card within Experience and then the Manage payment plan link, before making any payments, as the amount of the payment will be adjusted if changes are made to your schedule or housing arrangements, or if there is an adjustment to your financial aid award.

Rent payments are due according to your rent contract and are NOT included in your payment plan. Those payments MUST be made separately.

Financial Aid cannot be used to make payment plan payments, this includes private loan checks. Payments are calculated according to the balance due (total charges less all financial aid). If additional financial aid is received prior to 5 days before the payment due date, the system will auto-calculate your payment due within 1 business day.

A $25 late payment plan fee and account hold will be applied to student accounts if a payment is missed. This hold may prevent students from registering for future classes, requesting transcripts, seeing their grades and receiving their diploma.

Future payment plans may be denied if the student defaults on their current plan. The student will be responsible for any collection costs associated with the collection of the account balance.

Summer Semester Three-Payment Plan

This plan has a $65 non-refundable enrollment fee with the first payment being one-third of your balance due.  The link to enroll in the payment plan will be found on the Michigan Tech Student Bill available through Experience. Please see chart below for the payment plan due dates.

Fall/Spring Semester Four-Payment Option

This plan has a $65 non-refundable enrollment fee with the first payment being one-fourth of your balance due. The link to enroll in the payment plan will be found on the Michigan Tech Student Bill available through Experience and must be submitted BEFORE the semester billing due date. Please see the chart below for the payment plan due dates.

Students must enroll in the payment plan each semester that they wish to participate.

Payment Amounts

Payments are calculated according to the amount the student owes less all financial aid. Payments due may not be equal amounts each month, as charges and credits could fluctuate the amount owed. Please review your student bill to confirm the amount of each payment prior to making any payments.

Rent payments are due according to your housing agreement and are not included in your monthly payment plan amount.

A $25.00 non-refundable late fee will be charged for any payment that is not made by the due date and time.

Payments made after 5:00 pm on August 19 are subject to a non-refundable $25 late payment plan fee. 
If payment is not received by 5:00 pm on August 26 your account will be assessed a $50 late enrollment processing fee.
If payment is not received by 5:00 pm on September 2 your schedule will be dropped, a $100 late enrollment processing fee is applied and payment must be received and processed before classes can be rescheduled.

If payment is not received by 4:00 pm on May 5 your account will be assessed a $50 late enrollment processing fee.  

If payment is not received by 4:00 pm on May 12 your schedule will be dropped, a $100 late enrollment processing fee is applied and payment must be received and processed before classes can be rescheduled.
