Semester Payment Plans

Please review your Michigan Tech Student Bill on MyMichiganTech before making any payments, as the amount of the payment will be adjusted if changes are made to your schedule or housing arrangements, or if there is an adjustment to your financial aid award.

Rent payments are due according to your rent contract.

Financial Aid cannot be used to make all or part of any payment, this includes private loan checks. Payments are calculated according to the balance due (total charges less all financial aid). If you receive additional financial aid, please contact the Accounts Receivable Office so that your payments can be adjusted.

Future payment plans may be denied if the student defaults on their current plan. The student will be responsible for any collection costs associated with the collection of the account balance.

Fall/Spring Payment Plans

Fall/Spring Semester Five-Payment Option

This plan has a $35 enrollment fee with the first payment being one-fifth of your balance due and is due one month prior to the tuition billing due date. The remaining four payments will be due every four weeks thereafter. The contract will be on the Michigan Tech Student Bill available through MyMichiganTech and must be submitted to the Accounts Receivable Office by the date that the first payment is due. A separate contract must be submitted and approved for each semester that the student wishes to participate.

Note: If the first payment is not received on time, you will automatically be enrolled in the Four Payment Plan and charged the $50 enrollment fee (an additional $15).

Fall/Spring Semester Four-Payment Option

This plan has a $50 enrollment fee with the first payment being one-fourth of your balance due and is due on the tuition billing due date. The remaining three payments will be due every four weeks after that. The contract will be on the Michigan Tech Student Bill available through MyMichiganTech and must be submitted to the Accounts Receivable Office for approval by the semester billing due date. A separate contract must be submitted and approved for each semester that the student wishes to participate.

Spring 2021 Payment Dates

First Payment on Five-Payment Plan:

Wednesday, December 9 by 5 p.m. Eastern

100% of any prior unpaid balance plus one-fifth (1/5) of the current semester's balance due (charges less financial aid).  If the first payment is not received on time, you will automatically be enrolled in the Four Payment option and will be charged a $50 enrollment fee (additional $15).

Second Payment on Five or First Payment on Four:

Wednesday, January 6 by 5 p.m. Eastern

One-fourth (1/4) of the current account balance.  Payments made after 5 p.m. on January 6 and up to 5 p.m. on January 13 are subject to a non-refundable $50 late enrollment fee.  If payment is not received by 5 p.m. on January 13 a non-refundable $100 late enrollment fee is assessed, the student's course schedule is dropped, and payment must be processed before the student can reschedule classes.  This payment confirms the student's enrollment for the Spring 2021 semester for both the Five and Four Payment options

Subsequent Payments:

Wednesday, February 3 by 5 p.m. Eastern

One third (1/3) of the current account balance.  If this or any subsequent payment is late a non-refundable $25 late fee will be assessed and a hold will be placed on the account preventing registration and receiving of grades, transcripts, or diploma until payment is made.

Wednesday, March 3 by 5 p.m. Eastern

One half (1/2) of the current account balance.

Wednesday, March 31 by 5 p.m. Eastern

The remaining account balance in full.  If this payment is late the student's Summer 2021 course schedule will be dropped and payment must be processed before the student can reschedule Summer 2021 classes.

Summer Semester Three-Payment Plan

This plan has a $50 enrollment fee with the first payment being one-third of your balance due and is due on the tuition billing due date.  The remaining two payments will be due every four weeks thereafter.  The contract will be on the Michigan Tech Student Bill available through MyMichiganTech.

First payment: Wednesday, May 5 by 4 p.m. Eastern
Second payment: Wednesday, June 2 by 4 p.m. Eastern
Third payment: Wednesday, June 30 by 4 p.m. Eastern

Fall 2021 semester dates

First payment on five payment plan:
              Wednesday, July 28 by 4 p.m. Eastern
Second payment on five payment plan OR
First payment on four payment plan:
              Wednesday, August 25 by 5 p.m. Eastern*
Subsequent Payments:
              Wednesday, September 22 by 5 p.m. Eastern
              Wednesday, October 20 by 5 p.m. Eastern
              Wednesday, November 17 by 5 p.m. Eastern

Spring 2022 semester dates

First payment on five payment plan:
              Wednesday, December 8 by 5 p.m. Eastern
Second payment on five payment plan OR
First payment on four payment plan:
              Wednesday, January 5 by 5 p.m. Eastern*
Subsequent Payments:
              Wednesday, February 2 by 5 p.m. Eastern
              Wednesday, March 2 by 5 p.m. Eastern
              Wednesday, March 30 by 5 p.m. Eastern
