9.7.4 Mont Ripley Ski Area

Mont Ripley Ski Area is owned and operated by Michigan Technological University for the use of students and is open to the public for skiing and snowboarding. Daily or season passes may be purchased at Mont Ripley. Michigan Tech student tickets are paid for by their Experience Tech Fee and they need only to show their student ID to receive a ticket. Features include the chalet with snack bar, locker room, ski and snowboard school, ski and snowboard rentals, and ski shop and tuning center. Twenty-four lighted trails on 115 acres are serviced by three lifts and a snowmaking system, with a 440-foot vertical drop and trails from beginner to expert, with a 30 feature terrain park. A 110 foot vertical drop, 800 foot long, 4-lane tubing park serviced by a handle tow, open Friday nights, Saturday from 11am to 7pm, and Sunday from 11am to 5pm.
