A creative thinker and doer, Ian works with departments and organizations across campus to execute strategic marketing endeavors while also managing the brand of the University. He brings to Michigan Tech a marketing background mix of agency, business, and non-profit expertise. The Indiana native began his career as a writer and designer before serving as executive creative director for an Indianapolis-based marketing agency.
From brand strategy to marketing and communication plan development, Ian works to develop effective strategy and material that connects with all of Michigan Tech’s key audiences. He leads and empowers a team of twenty-nine University Marketing and Communications staff members that includes strategists, designers, writers, multimedia, and printing service specialists. Together the UMC team ensures the Michigan Tech brand continues to connect and engage and that University goals are successfully marketed.
