Prepare to be a Leader of AI-driven Automation in Organizations

From managing supply chains and analyzing customer behavior to improving operations and supporting strategic decisions, artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how organizations use business information systems.

Business information systems combine software, technology, and processes to collect, manage, and analyze organizational data. Integrating AI into these systems can help organizations identify patterns, automate tasks, improve efficiencies, and make more informed decisions. For example, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems help organizations track and manage important decisions across business units—integrating AI capabilities into current data-rich systems to identify opportunities for improving efficiencies, increasing customer service, opening new markets, and more. Organizations are also on the cusp of experiencing a long-lasting wave of automation because of the emergence of large language models (LLM), such as ChatGPT and Gemini, and other related AI technologies.

Michigan Tech's Artificial Intelligence for Business Information Systems Graduate Certificate examines how AI and machine learning can support business strategy and operations. Through a project-focused curriculum, students will learn how AI works, identify business challenges suited to AI applications, and develop the knowledge and skills to help lead AI initiatives within organizations.
