Build Practical, Strategic Skills to Lead Products Across Their Lifecycle and Collaborate Across Teams.
Product management is a high-demand, end-to-end leadership function that helps organizations create products that solve real problems and deliver real value. Sitting at the intersection of business strategy, customer insight, technology, and execution, product managers identify user needs, shape product direction, and prioritize the highest-impact opportunities. They align customer expectations with technical realities, market demand, and organizational goals.
For example, when a manufacturer introduces a redesigned safety sensor for factory equipment, a product manager may translate customer needs into clear requirements, partner with engineers to prioritize features, and plan testing and launch timelines. They may also coordinate with suppliers, production teams, and distributors to ensure components, quality standards, labeling, and support processes are ready to deliver the product at scale.
Michigan Technological University’s Graduate Certificate in Product Management is a 9-credit credential designed for working professionals who want to lead customer-centric new product development, corporate entrepreneurship, and supply chain integration and innovation.
Develop Product Management Expertise While Preparing for Additional Graduate Pathways.
Built for dynamic, technology-driven environments, this online certificate helps learners step into the product manager role, one that is often described as a “mini-CEO.”
