Welcome, Students and Alumni of Carthage College!

Carthage graduates are encouraged to ask big questions, build real strengths, and use their education in service to others. Graduate school can be a powerful way to keep that momentum going—whether the goal is deepening expertise in your field, exploring a new direction, or preparing for the next stage of your career.

To help you achieve these goals, Michigan Technological University and Carthage College are partnering to reduce financial barriers and create a clearer pathway from a Carthage degree to advanced study at Michigan Tech. This partnership reflects Carthage’s mission of "Seeking Truth, Building Strength, Inspiring Service — Together."

Through this collaboration, the Graduate Education Fellowship Program will offer a limited number of fellowships to qualified Carthage graduates, making Michigan Tech graduate certificates and degrees—online or on campus—both more accessible and more affordable. Come to our beautiful Houghton campus—set just miles from Lake Superior—to study and build community in a place that’s made for focus and discovery. Or choose the flexibility of pursuing an online degree and continuing to work while you learn.

Whatever path you choose, you’ll build new confidence through graduate-level study while gaining a respected credential from Michigan’s flagship technological university where hands-on learning and real-world problem solving are baked into the culture. In fact, Carnegie's Classification of Institutions of Higher Education designates Michigan Tech as R1 (very high research activity), placing it among the nation’s leading research universities.

In short, recipients can use this graduate fellowship opportunity to

  • pursue a graduate credential and deepen their expertise through advanced study
  • invest in their long-term professional development and educational growth
  • open new paths toward leadership opportunities, increased responsibilities, and career mobility
  • apply what they learn in ways that strengthen organizations, communities, and lives of service

"Michigan Tech is a globally recognized technological university that educates students, advances knowledge, and innovates to improve the quality of life and to promote mutual respect for all people within the state, the nation, and the global community."Vision and Mission, Michigan Tech Strategic Plan
