COVID-19 Testing Information

Note: This page contains information related to COVID-19 testing only. For information about the COVID-19 vaccine, please visit Michigan Tech's COVID-19 Vaccine Information webpage.

COVID-19 testing is available on demand to Michigan Tech students and employees during the spring 2022 semester. Starting January 10, 2022, testing will be located in the Rozsa Center basement Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

All testing will be done on a walk-in basis—no appointments will be needed and there will be no cost. Results will be emailed and are typically available within 24-48 hours, but it may take longer to receive your results.

The consent form can be filled out between 8:30 a.m and 1 p.m. on the day you get tested.

MTU student and employee children who are younger than 18 can receive a test on campus. However, because of HIPAA restrictions, we cannot offer testing to student or employee spouses or children ages 18 and older.

Students and employees who experience COVID-19 symptoms or are close contacts of someone who has tested positive are welcome to use Michigan Tech's walk-in testing. If you would prefer to be tested off campus, please reach out to a local health care provider to schedule a test. You do not need to have a preexisting relationship with the health care provider in order to get tested.

Testing Requirements for International Travel

If you must travel internationally or are considering whether to do so, please review the country-specific COVID-19 information available on the US Department of State website.

Michigan Tech's on-demand testing is not intended to be used for international travel. Results are provided only by email. If you are traveling to a country that requires proof of a negative COVID-19 test, plan ahead. We recommend contacting a local health care provider for travel-related testing.
