Biography

Dr. Kellie Raffaelli is the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students at Michigan Technological University. She joined Michigan Tech in 2012 as the Assistant Director at the Center for Diversity and Inclusion(CDI), served as the Director at CDI for 7 years, and transitioned to working with international students in 2019. Along the way, Kellie served as the Special Assistant to the President for Diversity and led the Tech Forward Initiative for DEI in 2019-2020 and was the interim director of Student Leadership and Involvement and Greek Life Advisor in 2022-2023. 

Kellie was born and raised in the Bronx NY, and has lived in Houghton since 2006 with her Copper Country native Husband and two daughters. Kellie earned a BA in Anthropology in 1998 from SUNY Oneonta, an MEd in 2005 from Regis University, and an EdD in Higher Education Leadership in 2023. Kellie’s research focused on sense of belonging and mentoring programs. Before working in Higher Education, Kellie was a special education teacher in Denver Colorado, working with students in the K-12 system. When not at work, Kellie loves camping, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
