Huskies Lead the Pack. We Don't Haze.

Michigan Tech Hazing Policy Statement:

Michigan Technological University is concerned about the emotional, psychological, and physical health and well-being of its students and expects all students to be treated with equal care, concern, honor, and dignity.

Any form of hazing is unacceptable and is in direct conflict with institutional values and the rights and dignity of students, all of whom have the right to belong to groups without undergoing hazing or any risks of physical or emotional injury or humiliation as a right of entry to a student organization/group/team. Consent to hazing is never a defense to a violation of this policy.

What is Hazing?

Hazing includes various activities that may put students at physical risk or cause psychological harm through humiliating, intimidating, or degrading treatment of those seeking to join or remain part of a group, team, or organization. At Michigan Tech, we recognize that hazing can have serious, lasting consequences for our students and our community.

The effects of hazing extend far beyond the immediate incident and can significantly impact a student's academic success, mental health, and overall university experience. As a university committed to fostering an welcoming environment where all Huskies can thrive, we take a firm stance against any form of hazing behavior.
