My research primarily focuses on the factors that influence successful balance recovery to prevent falls and improve mobility. This includes environmental (e.g. lighting), task (e.g. load carrying) and individual factors (e.g. aging, cognitive and physical disorders, musculoskeletal injury). This research is currently focused on improving mobility for occupational, aging, and special populations.

Research Interests

  • Mobility and postural control in aging and special populations
  • Ergonomics and design of built environments for special populations
