Career Services provides presentations to groups on campus including classes, student
organizations, residence halls, GSG, etc. We can present to your group on a variety
of career- related topics. We have created presentations to best fit within class
time frames. Presentation topics are listed below.
We will try to accommodate presentation requests between 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Monday–Friday,
but availability is limited outside of these hours. Requests should be made at least
2 weeks ahead. Due to CareerFEST programming, we can only accommodate a limited number of requests during that time, and they
will be taken on a first-come first-serve basis.

Career Fair Prep | 25 minutes
Is there more to career fair then bringing a few copies of my résumé? Absolutely,
and with a plan, there is a much higher chance of reaching your career fair goals.

Cover letters may be the determining factor in the final decision. The key is quality
over quantity. We will discuss strategies to ensure the cover letter shows a clear
match between the student and the job/company.

Related experience is first on a recruiter’s list of must-haves. This is an overall
look at the internship/co-op job search, hiring process, and key strategies for a
successful work experience.

An interview is like any performance…. it takes practice, skill, and strategy. We
will discuss strategies and tips, including the STAR method.

for an effective search. Search smarter, not harder.

Personal Introduction and Networking | 25 minutes
Many underestimate the power of an introduction. When asked, “Tell me about yourself,”
what do they really want to know? Is networking as scary as it seems? It doesn't have
to be.
