Web Accessibility Procedures

Web accessibility procedures support Michigan Tech’s accessible information and communication technology (ICT) policy. The procedures apply to all official University webpages as well as web-based content from third-party services used for core business and academic activities.

These procedures do not apply to webpages published by employees, students, or non-University organizations hosted by the University. Additionally, these policies do not apply to websites that do not support a core academic or business function of the University.

Document Accessibility Procedures

Document accessibility procedures support Michigan Tech’s accessible information and communication technology (ICT) policy.  These procedures apply to electronic documents made available on public facing University webpages within the mtu.edu domain and associated subdomains, and includes web-based documents from third-party services purchased for core business and academic activities. Examples of common document file formats covered in these procedures include PDF (.pdf), Word (.docx), and PowerPoint (.pptx).  

These procedures do not apply to electronic documents made available on webpages published by employees, students, or non-University organizations hosted by the University. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Procurement Procedures

All information and communication technology (ICT) products or services acquired by the University should be accessible to individuals with disabilities.  Information and Communication Technology procurement procedures support Michigan Tech’s accessible information and communication technology (ICT) policy.
