Staying on Campus

  • If you plan to stay in the residence halls at any point during the break (February 28–March 8), you must complete the Request to Stay for Break form by Monday, February 23 to keep your HuskyCard access active.
  • There is no charge to stay, but students are responsible for their own meals. Dining services will not be available until dinner on Sunday, March 8.
  • Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, Residence Education staff will conduct room checks. Facilities staff may also enter rooms to address maintenance needs.

Preparing Your Room Before You Leave

All students should prepare their rooms before leaving for Spring Break. While electricity will remain on, energy conservation measures will be in effect. Residence hall staff will be checking all rooms to ensure windows are closed and for maintenance needs.

Before leaving

  • Remove all recycling, trash, and perishable food.
  • Do not leave food in shared kitchenettes. Unlabeled or unused food will be discarded during cleaning.
  • Turn your room’s heat on to prevent pipes from freezing.
  • Unplug all electrical items (except refrigerators).
  • Close and lock windows; leave blinds open.
  • Turn off lights and lock your door.
  • Set up automatic feeders for any fish or plants.

Dining Hours During Spring Break

Dining

  • Social House at Wadsworth Hall: Closes at 6 p.m. Friday, February 27; reopens at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8
  • The Eatery at McNair: Closes at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 26; reopens at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8
  • Food Hall at DHH: Closed starting Thursday, February 26; reopens at 7 a.m. Monday, March 9

Additional food services:

  • Husky Food Access Network (FAN): Hours vary by volunteer availability. See the Husky FAN Google Calendar.
  • East Hall and MUB markets are open the entire break (24/7).
  • Public Safety and Police Services: Available 24/7 and can provide emergency meal packets.

 

 

Residence Hall Front Desks and Mail

 

  • Reception desks will be closed on Saturday, February 28 and reopen Sunday, March 9.
  • Mail and packages will not be sorted or distributed during break.
  • Packages arriving by February 27 but not picked up before break will be held until staff return March 9.
  • Package notifications will pause during break and resume March 9.

Parking During Break

If leaving a vehicle on campus:

  • All vehicles must be moved to Lot 26 (Commuter Lot via Seventh Avenue) by Sunday, March 1 at 10 p.m. You can move your vehicle as early as Thursday, February 26 at 4 p.m.
  • Students leaving earlier, returning late, or those staying on campus who need regular access to their vehicle, must contact the Transportation Services Office for alternate accommodations.
Parking

Vehicles must be moved back to assigned lots by Sunday, March 8 at 10 p.m. to avoid citations.

For motorist assistance (dead batteries, flat tires, stuck vehicles, etc.), please contact Transportation Services during regular business hours, Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., at 906-487-1441. For assistance outside of business hours, contact Public Safety and Police Services at 906-487-2216.
