Bicycles
If you have a bike on campus, please plan ahead before leaving for Thanksgiving Break. Summer bike racks will be removed during the break, and any bicycles left in those racks will be considered abandoned and removed.
Before you leave, please do one of the following:
- Take your bike home.
- Store it for the winter. Students may store bikes indoors through their Hall Council.
Please bring your bike to your Hall Council on any of the following dates:
- Douglass Houghton Hall Council (DHHC): Nov. 6, 4-8 p.m.
- McNair Hall Association (MHA): Nov. 7 and Nov. 9, 3-7 p.m.
- Wadsworth Hall Student Association (WHSA): Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, Noon-5 p.m.
- East Hall residents only: If you plan to keep your bike on campus through the winter, you must move it to the outdoor covered and heated bike storage area. Tap access with your Michigan Tech ID is required.

There is no fee for internal winter bike storage. Bikes can be retrieved in the spring.
All bikes stored indoors must be registered with the Department of Public Safety and Police Services before they can be placed in storage. This can be done online, and is free to do. If these times/dates do not work for you, please contact your respective REC to make separate arrangements.
Parking During Break
If you are leaving your vehicle on campus:
- All vehicles must be moved to Lot 26 (Commuter Lot via Seventh Avenue) by Sunday, November 23 at 10 p.m. You can move your vehicle as early as Thursday November 16 at 4 p.m.
- Students leaving earlier, returning late, or those staying on campus who need regular access to their vehicle, must contact the Transportation Services Office for alternate accommodations.
Vehicles must be moved back to assigned lots by Sunday, November 30 at 10 p.m. to avoid citations.
