About Us

The Michigan Tech Transportation Institute (MTTI) is a multidisciplinary organization conducting a wide range of transportation focused activities including research, education and training, outreach, product development and technology transfer.

Currently, 29 principal investigators from 9 departments and two colleges participate in MTTI sponsored activities.

Established in 2002, MTTI was originally formed as a link between Michigan Tech researchers and the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Today, MTTI membership is available for all campus researchers and offers faculty and staff a venue for networking, funding opportunities for members, and project management support.

MTTI has been awarded over $46 million in awards for its transportation related activities and research over the past 15 years, spanning 810 proposals and 344 awards.
