Award Value: For students who first received the Working Families Scholarship at Michigan Tech prior to fall of 2024, the award value of the scholarship is $11,000 per year ($5,500 Working Families Scholarship and $5,500 Create Your Success Scholarship). Awards are renewable, with the number of semesters varying based on program.
Renewal Criteria: Scholarship recipients must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 at the end of each semester of study, complete a thank you letter to the Thompson Foundation each year, and complete and report a minimum of 20 community service hours per academic year (fall/spring semesters). Continuous, regular full-time undergraduate enrollment (12 credits or more) and acceptable social behavior must also be maintained.
