Pest Control

Our Facilities team works with an outside contractor to handle pest control needs at Daniell Heights, which is included under the larger campus pest management contract. They use the most environmentally friendly methods possible for each type of pest. Minimal treatment is done on building exteriors because all stormwater runoff flows into the lake system. If you have questions about any treatments, our pest technician or a member of the Facilities team will be happy to explain them.

Since we live near natural areas, it’s normal to encounter pests such as spiders, mice, squirrels, and ants. For some pests—like Asian lady beetles and boxelder bugs—we do not use chemical treatments and instead recommend using your vacuum as the most effective way to manage them indoors.

Please refer to the chart below for information on our most common pests and tips for handling them.
