The new home of the Department of Psychology and Human Factors, TheMinerals and Materials Engineering Building (known as the M&M), is located on Cliff Drive on Michigan Tech's central campus. Our department is located in the waterfront section, across Cliff Drive. The M&M unites the activities of the Psychology and Human Factors community under one roof, providing a dedicated space to departmental offices and lab spaces.
Laboratory/Research Equipment
Our state-of-the-art research facilities are equipped with innovative equipment, including
- a usability suite;
- a video-based simulation system;
- a driving simulator;
- a law-enforcement shooting simulator;
- eye-movement and motion tracking systems; and
- physiological measurement equipment.

The goal of our teacher education program is to prepare students to become teachers literate in the instructional technology that will make a real difference in how students learn and master STEM subjects. In our research facilities, we are endeavoring to develop a simulated-reality laboratory in order to unify multidisciplinary research efforts in human factors and human performance.
