The new home of the Department of Psychology and Human Factors, TheMinerals and Materials Engineering Building (known as the M&M), is located on Cliff Drive on Michigan Tech's central campus. Our department is located in the waterfront section, across Cliff Drive. The M&M unites the activities of the Psychology and Human Factors community under one roof, providing a dedicated space to departmental offices and lab spaces.

Laboratory/Research Equipment

Our state-of-the-art research facilities are equipped with innovative equipment, including

  • a usability suite;
  • a video-based simulation system;
  • a driving simulator;
  • a law-enforcement shooting simulator;
  • eye-movement and motion tracking systems; and
  • physiological measurement equipment.

Support Our Facilities

You can help us continue to provide advanced facilities that support pioneering teacher instruction and groundbreaking research. The goal of our teacher education program is to prepare students to become teachers literate in the instructional technology that will make a real difference in how students learn and master STEM subjects. In our research facilities, we are endeavoring to develop a simulated-reality laboratory in order to unify multidisciplinary research efforts in human factors and human performance.
