Giving Opportunities

We thank you for your consideration of a gift to the Expansion Fund at Mont Ripley. Mont Ripley has become a skiing destination over the last 20 years. We must now continue to advance our operation to be sustainable into the future so we may continue to serve the needs of our Michigan Tech students, our local community, and the growing number of regional guests.

The Mont Ripley Chalet was built in 1965 when Tech's enrollment was 3,400. It is more than double that now, with 44 percent of the student body visiting the ski hill last winter.

The level of expansion, based on funds, varies from minor amenity upgrades to an entirely new chalet.

Beginners on green run
Mont Ripley has the busiest ski school in the Upper Peninsula! The completion of a new top-to-bottom beginner run would better serve guests of all abilities. The early stages of a beginner run, has already been started to the far east side of the current skiable terrain.

Another not-so-glamourous, but much needed upgrade is to the parking lot. By providing more convenient parking, including options that address accessibility needs, we will be able to ensure more community members can enjoy a day of skiing!

With 115 acres in the snowiest place in the Midwest, Mont Ripley is a vital recreation resource for Michigan Tech and the Keweenaw. As the University and community expand, there are opportunities for our facilities to grow and enhance the accessibility of our facilities and ski hill to better welcome everyone who comes to enjoy Mont Ripley. Will you show your support of Mont Ripley with a gift today?
