COVID-19

State and Local Restrictions:

The State of MI is currently under a mask mandate until further notice.  Mont Ripley is complying with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Emergency Order, and restrictions put in place by Michigan Technological University. The order and University policies state that face coverings must be worn indoors at all times and outdoors when unable to consistently maintain a distance of six feet or more from individuals who are not members of their household.

Please respect the new protocols and procedures put in place to protect our patrons and our community. We are committed to bringing you the safest ski season possible. 

Mont Ripley Protocols, Procedures, and Restrictions:

Season Passes:

  • All tickets and passes will be purchasable online.
  • Returning passholders of all ages do NOT need a new picture this year.
  • Only new passholders need to send their picture in to Mont Ripley for processing.
  • Photos can be emailed to ripleyoffice@mtu.edu. Please use the subject line – Pass Photo and make sure the passholder’s name is somewhere in the email.
  • All online ticket puchases should be picked up at the new Outdoor Ticket Window (located on the upper deck of the East side of the chalet)
  • Group/Corporate Rate Season Passes are still available for purchase online. Ask your group liaison for your groups promo code to receive the Group Rate online.

Lift Tickets:

  • All tickets and passes will be purchasable online.
  • Daily tickets purchased online will be valid anytime during the 2020-2021 Season. Refunds will not be given on these items.
  • Tickets purchased for any of our daily specials will only be valid on those specific days.
  • All online ticket puchases should be picked up at the new Outdoor Ticket Window (located on the upper deck of the East side of the chalet)

General Inside:

  • Face coverings must be worn at all times except when drinking/eating.
  • Most transactions will take place at the Outdoor Ticket Window. If you need additional assistance a guests services member will ask you to come inside.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be readily available in common areas.
  • Mont Ripley staff will routinely disinfect high touch surfaces.
  • If you must come inside (upstairs) please use the outside doors on the East and North sides of the chalet. There will be no stair access from the first floor.
  • Seating will be configured to allow for distancing. Please allow guests who are dining to use the tables inside.
  • Personal belonging should be kept in either a locker, or in your car. Limited outdoor storage for shoes, bags, etc. will be available this season. Mont Ripley is not responsible for any items that are lost, stolen or damaged. 

General Outside:

  • Face coverings will be required when 6 feet of social distancing between customers and/or staff is not possible. Examples: The Outdoor Ticket Window, The Lift Line, The Chairlift Chair (if accompanied by another participant not in your group)
  • Be courteous to others at all times, give people their space – ask about sharing a chairlift prior to getting on.
  • In the lift line, maintain a tip to tail distance from people in front of you. Be aware of the bamboo markers.
  • More outdoor seating and warming areas will be available. Please stay outside as much as possible.
  • Outdoor portable restrooms will also be available. Capacity of indoor restrooms will be very limited. Please stay outside when possible. 
  • Please check the website for posted hours of operation before coming.

Food and Beverage

  • Face coverings must be worn at all times except when drinking/eating.
  • Offerings will be limited this season. Menu items and ordering information TBA.
  • To enter the cafe area, please use the outside doors on the East and North sides of the chalet. There will be no stair access from the first floor.
  • Rearranging and moving tables will not be allowed.

Rentals

  • Daily and Season Rentals are purchasable online
  • Indoor access to rental will be limited. To eliminate your need to come inside, new outdoor pick-up services will be available this season.
  • We are strongly encouraging Season Renters to use our online reservation form to reserve your rental with date and time for pick-up and we'll have your gear ready for you to pick-up outside. 
  • Personal belonging should be kept in either a locker, or in your car. Limited outdoor storage for shoes, bags, etc. will be available this season. Mont Ripley is not responsible for any items that are lost, stolen or damaged.
  • We will be disinfecting our rental boots and helmets after each use.

Ski Patrol

  • Unless there is a breathing impediment, patrollers will require customers to be masked before administering care.
  • Customers will not be allowed into the Patrol Building, except for a medical emergency.
  • An outdoor triage unit will be set up near the patrol building for general incidents.
