Why did you choose Michigan Tech? My parents are both from the east end of the UP and I spent a lot of time visiting "the yoop" . During my childhood. I knew I wanted to be an engineer since a young age, and after visiting Tech during a summer family camping trip in 7th grade I knew where I was supposed to be. Dr. James C. Gerdeen (BSME '59) retired as Professor and Department of Mechanical Engineering Chair from the University of Colorado - Denver. After graduation, Jim worked in industry before completing his MS in 1962 from Ohio State University and later his PhD from Stanford in 1965, both in mechanical engineering. Renowned climber Yvon Chouinard said that when scaling mountains, he never felt scared, instead totally alive. By that standard, Scott Wazny '94 is on cloud nine literally and figuratively. Jennifer graduated from Michigan Tech in 1996 with her bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. She later went on to earn her master's in mechanical engineering in 1998 from Oakland University. She is currently the Senior Manager: Safety Recall Administration amp; Execution at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) where she is responsible for the execution of safety and quality customer campaigns from recall to repair . . .
