The Alumni Legacy Award was established to honor alumni, and in support of the worldwide network of proud Michigan Tech graduates. Legacy Awards provide a unique opportunity for alumni, their children and grandchildren to significantly benefit from their life-long relationships with the Michigan Tech family.
Eligible students are granted the Michigan resident tuition rate (valued over $20,000 per year).
All new incoming undergraduate students who are non-Michigan residents and have indicated on their admissions application that they are the child or grandchild of a Michigan Tech graduate are automatically considered for these awards. Awards are granted after confirmation that the identified parent or grandparent has been previously awarded one of the following degrees by Michigan Tech:
- Associate degree
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree
Recipients of the Alumni Legacy Award are not eligible for the National Scholars Program, the Presidential Scholars Program, the Military Family Education Award, the University Student Aid Grant (USA), or the International Ambassador Scholarship. They may, however, be eligible for need based federal aid and/or private scholarship funds.
