- Turn off lights when not needed. Use LED bulbs.
- Power down computers and other devices when not in use.
- Keep windows closed in winter. If your room or office is too hot, report it so corrections can be made.
- Turn thermostats down and dress for comfort in winter. A 1-degree drop in temperature can save as much as 3% of the energy used to heat a space.
- Take shorter showers.
- When doing laundry, make sure your load fits the machine. Too much or too little laundry in a load wastes energy.
- Close your curtains at night.
- Make sure doors close behind you when exiting a building. Doors that are not closed all the way allow heat to escape.
