Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Henquinet brings together an interdisciplinary background in ecological science and legal policy, he specializes in environmental planning, natural resources law, research administration, and aquatic invasive species policy. His research focuses on sustainable ecosystem management, including evaluating aquatic invasive species controls and ballast water treatment systems across Great Lakes environments.

As a member of the GLRC administrive team, he provides (1) Pre-Award Support assisting faculty and principal investigators (PIs) with finding funding, developing proposal budgets, and ensuring applications comply with sponsor and institutional guidelines; (2) Post-Award Management monitoring ongoing expenditures, interpreting federal regulations (such as Uniform Guidance), sponsor terms, and institutional policies to ensure research funds are spent correctly and helping to prepare financial reports, reconcile accounts, and handle award closeout procedures.
