Professional Development Day

Professional Development Day is relaunching on campus this fall! Professional Development Day is a day of training sessions for faculty and staff to improve their skills and knowledge. The sessions will be led by Michigan Tech faculty and staff and provide development in a learning-centered peer-to-peer environment.

Professional Development Day will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19th. Please visit our conference page on Digital Commons to view our conference sessions and to register for each session you wish to attend. You may choose to come all day or to attend a single session depending on your schedule and your interest.

2023 Keynote Speaker

Staff Council is pleased to welcome Theresa Coleman-Kaiser as our 2023 keynote speaker to share "Stitching Life-Long Learning Into Your Daily Strategy."

Theresa joined Michigan Tech in 1999, holding several leadership positions before assuming her current role as Associate Vice President for Administration in 2015.

Coleman-Kaiser currently leads a broad portfolio of Administrative and Auxiliary units including the A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum, the Office of Continuous Improvement, the Office of Sustainability and Resilience, Merchandising, Dining, the Memorial Union Building, Transportation Services, Mont Ripley Ski Hill, Portage Lake Golf Course, Business Support Center, and Residential Education and Housing Services.

Prior to her career at Michigan Tech, Coleman-Kaiser worked in auxiliary services and student union roles at Grinnell College, St. Norbert College, and the University of Oregon. Coleman-Kaiser is a Lean Practitioner, holding a Lean Bronze Certification, and is a Black Belt Senior Lean Facilitator at Michigan Tech.
