Quinn Riordan
Applied ecology and environmental science major Quinn Riordan '25 shaped her Michigan Tech journey through field-based learning and student leadership.

From Field School to the Commencement Stage

Representing the undergraduate Class of 2025, this year's student commencement address will be delivered by graduating senior Quinn Riordan, an applied ecology and environmental science major from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Riordan chose Michigan Tech for the University's hands-on approach to ecological education and the strong sense of community within the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science. Her academic experience involved extensive field-based learning, including the Integrated Field Practicum at the Ford Center in Alberta — a semester she described as one of the most meaningful parts of her time at Tech.

During her undergraduate career, Riordan held leadership roles in the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers and was involved in student organizations such as the Superior Ma's Ultimate Frisbee Team and Michigan Tech's chapter of The Wildlife Society. She is pursuing a career in the environmental field, with interests in education and research.

Riordan will share her reflections and encouragement with fellow graduates during the ceremony.
