Facilities Management staff do not provide regular cleaning services in research laboratories. Cleaning and maintenance in research laboratories can be scheduled with the building’s Facilities Manager. Requests will be handled on a first come, first serve basis, and prioritized based on the critical nature of the request. 

  • Laboratory research staff are responsible for removing their own trash and recycling from their research labs and taking all items to a hallway centralized collection area within the building.
  • Project work such as floor stripping and waxing or overhead dusting can be scheduled in advance with the building’s Facilities Manager to ensure the proposed services are coordinated with appropriate lab and safety personnel. 

Requests for services should be submitted through the department's work request system. Work requests should include details regarding the services needed or maintenance issues, location information, and preferred time of completion. Please provide 2-3 weeks advance notice for cleaning services in research laboratories.
