We are very pleased to announce that, in our continuing effort to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of our services, we are partnering with the Quest Construction Data Network to bring you on-line digital project advertisements and digital project bidding documents. The system was designed from the ground up to bring the maximum efficiency and cost effectiveness to the process of soliciting bids for construction projects. It brings everyone the information they need in a timely, convenient, cost effective and easy to use way.
We plan on implanting this new system with our Data Cabling Upgrade Phase 6 project. The advertisement will include all the information you need to try out this new method including the web address and the eBidDoc# (QuestCDN project number) to use when acquiring the digital plans. It will also include the contact information for QuestCDN.com should you need any assistance along the way. Plans may be viewed at this site for free, however downloading the documents requires registration and a $22.00 fee.
The digital project plans will be provided in the easy to use Adobe PDF format, so there is no software investment required. All you need is internet access. If you do not already have Adobe Acrobat Reader available, the QuestCDN.com web site has a link for you to follow to assist you in downloading this free software. You will be able to print just the pages you need. While we realize printing capabilities vary in our industry, many of you already have the access to print larger formats than 8 ½ x 11. If you do not have this capability in-house currently, please contact Facilities Management to discuss printing alternatives.
We encourage you to start using these new digital plan sets as soon as possible. The speed of communication of changes via digital addenda (automatic for those that acquire the digital plans) will be dramatically improved as well as your easy access to up-to-date information such as current plan holders list and the project bid results.
We are excited about this new initiative and welcome your comments and concerns. Feel free to contact us directly at 906-487-2303.
