Nursing

There are two application options for our nursing degree program. Learn more about each application option to determine which is best for you.

Pre-Nursing

Apply for the pre-nursing program as an incoming first-year student. The admissions requirements are the same as most other majors on campus. If admitted, you would then apply for the nursing program during the second semester of your first year on campus. Applications for pre-nursing will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning December 1.

Direct Admission

Complete the following additional criteria to be considered for direct admission into the nursing program. If selected, this will reserve your spot immediately upon enrollment.* To be considered for direct admission, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Complete the pre-nursing application for admission and all requirements by December 1 of your senior year
  • 3.50 or higher cumulative high school GPA
  • Complete high school chemistry, biology, and algebra II courses with grades of ‘B’ or higher
  • Provide a personal statement (more information on what should be included in this statement can be found in your Husky Portal upon application)

You will be notified of your direct admission decision by January 15. Not all students who wish to be considered for direct admission will be selected. If you are instead admitted into the pre-nursing program, you will have the opportunity to apply into the nursing program again beginning the second semester of your first year on campus.

* Successful completion of nursing prerequisite courses and adherence to the Nursing Program Admission criteria are conditions of maintaining a reserved seat in the program.
