Engineering Ambassadors at Michigan Tech

The Engineering Ambassadors at Michigan Tech (EA) Program was founded in 2012. This program is part of a larger network of universities with the same common goal of changing the conversation about engineering. This includes a focus on providing professional development for university students which is achieved through outreach to local schools in the Engineering disciplines. Goals are to excite, inspire and educate students on engineering and its applications with EA’s giving a brief presentation and conducting a hands on, interactive, activity with the students, sharing their excitement and passion for engineering. Since 2012, fifty-four Engineering Ambassadors from Michigan Tech University have visited ten area schools within a 60 mile radius, reaching 1,433 students spanning 3rd-10th grade.
