This position leads the full-time staff and part-time student employees for the Information Technology Operations shop. The shop consists of 7 full-time employees and between 50-75 student technicians. You will manage the work performed by our shop and serve as coordinator and liaison to other units of Information Technology. This position is a mix of technological skill, mentoring, management and development of student and full-time staff while also leading the day-to-day missions, projects, and goals of our group. As the Senior IT Security Engineer you will be responsible for the engineering and execution of security controls for University systems to meet our strategies as set by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), IT Leadership team, and other University or regulatory bodies. You will work closely with IT areas ensuring our controls are implemented properly and will provide security analysis and design assistance. You will coordinate with the Security Analyst to correct or mitigate any deﬁciencies identiﬁed in the system. This position works with the Chief Information Security Oﬃcer to ensure that risks have been properly identiﬁed and mitigated. The System Administrators in our Core Services group are responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance, security, and performance of a large number of Linux servers and systems related to campus authentication, directory services, DNS, DHCP, application load balancing and web sites/applications.
