The Michigan Tech Writing Center has partnered with First Year Writing courses UN1015 and UN1014 to create an embedded fellows program where Writing Center peer coaches attend writing courses and provide students in-class support in addition to acting as one-to-one peer coaches in the Writing Center space. This program allows students to develop more personal relationships with writing support available to them on campus while also allowing Writing Center staff to have valuable classroom experience and engage with students as well as develop skills such as developing relationships with MTU faculty. This development has also included the creation of the Fellows Coordinator position, currently staffed by Jordan Dagenais, a Rhetoric, Theory, and Culture graduate student with writing center and First Year Writing expertise.
