Certificate Program

The School of Business and Economics offers certificates in two areas. Certificate programs require at least 12 credits but no more than 25, at least one-half of which must be at the 3000 level and higher. Students must earn a grade of C or better in each course that is used to meet certificate requirements. Departments offering certificates may establish GPA requirements up to 2.5.

  • Students interested in pursuing a certificate must first express their interest to the appropriate department and complete a certificate audit form.
  • Students must add the certificate program to their academic record by completing a curriculum add/drop form and submitting it to the Registrar's Office.
  • Students who participate in a certificate program are required to complete and submit a certificate application before graduating.

Industrial Forestry

The School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science (SFRES) and the School of Business and Economics jointly award a Certificate in Industrial Forestry. Business students can use the certificate to obtain a working knowledge of the forestry and wood products industries. SFRES students can use the certificate to obtain a working knowledge of business and management. Contact us to discuss this program and how it can work for you.

What to Expect

  • Attain working knowledge of accounting principles, project management, economics, and finance
  • Gain a working knowledge of forest resources, vegetation in North America, wood properties, and the functions at wood processing facilities

International Business

This certificate program is intended for business majors and business dual degree students that are interested in pursuing a career related to international business. The program requires one year of foreign language study and at least six of the total 24 credits in the certificate program must be earned in a study abroad program. What to Expect

  • Understand international economics, global finance, and communicating and managing in an international setting.
  • Gain an appreciation of the international environment by successfully completing four courses related to international politics, history, peoples and cultures of the world, and/or international laws.
