Apply for Fall 2027 with the Common App

Test scores are optional for domestic students. Students may also apply for competitive scholarships without test scores.

First-year students are those who have completed their junior year of high school or have graduated from high school or earned their GED (or other high school equivalency), and have not taken college classes following high school graduation. If you completed college courses while in high school or are part of an early/middle college program, you’re considered a first-year student.

Fall Applicants

Students who apply prior to November 1 have the choice select Early Action (non-binding) or Regular Decision. Early Action applicants are prioritized and will receive an admissions decision by January 15. Applicants who apply after November 1 and by February 1 will automatically apply Regular Decision and receive an admisisons decisions by March 1. After February 1, all applicants apply as  Rolling Decision. We've outined the application and decision dates to help guide

Spring and Summer Applicants

Decisions on applications for the spring semester (begins in January) or summer semester (begins in May) will be released on a rolling basis as applications are completed. We encourage you to apply as early as possible.

How to Apply

  • Submit Your Application for Admission
  • Request Your Official High School Transcript
    Request to have an official copy of your transcript sent to us through your school counselor or a service such as Parchment. Your transcript must show grades through your junior year.
  • Submit Your Official SAT and/or ACT Test Scores (Optional)
    Students do not need to submit test scores, unless their GPA is below a 3.00. If you would like to submit your SAT or ACT, we will only utilize scores if it strengthens your application. Our SAT code is 1464; ACT code is 2030. 
  • Provide Supplemental Information (Optional)
    If you'd like your counselor to share information with us regarding your high school academic performance, have them submit the High School Counselor Information form. Your counselor can also use this form to have your test scores sent to Michigan Tech at no cost to you. If you choose to send any letters of recommendation or additional materials, they will be reviewed along with your application.
  • Submit Additional Application Materials (Select Majors)
