You got what? Attend Preview Day, an entire day devoted to you and your college decision. Attend information sessions about life on campus, student organizations, and financial aid. Enjoy a meal in the residence halls, take a tour of campus, and talk with current students to see what makes Michigan Tech so special. You can also audition for the Diversity Incentive Talent Awards and Visual and Performing Arts ensembles—all students are welcome!

Transfer Visit Day

A program just for transfer students! You'll get details on the transfer process and credit evaluation, tour campus with a current student, have lunch, and meet with an academic advisor for the major you're considering.
Women in Computing Visit Day

Female high school juniors and seniors are invited to spend an entire day at Michigan Tech doing super-cool stuff! Come check out our degree programs in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, and software engineering during our Women in Computing Visit Day. Don’t worry, you don’t have to be an expert to join in the fun!

Whether you’re just starting your college search or you’ve decided that Michigan Tech is for you, Open House is your chance to see what we’re all about. Tour academic departments, learn about financial aid, talk with current students, and— when you’re ready to seal the deal—apply online for free.

Portage Lake Lift Bridge Construction

The Portage Lake Lift Bridge, which connects the cities of Houghton and Hancock, is being upgraded starting in December 2014 with work expected to finish in spring 2016.

During construction, there will be:

  •          Lane closures
  •          Short and extended closures to pedestrian and vehicle traffic

Be mindful of hotel and flight reservations, as well as any travel plans north of the bridge on highways M-26, US-41, and M-203.
