An eye-catching innovation called VaxBeads has won Michigan Tech's 3D Printers for Peace Contest. The colorful plastic beads are designed to help families and doctors in the developing world keep better childhood vaccine records. 
Michigan Tech has made the Guinness Book of World Records again. Last winter, a team of mechanical engineering students rolled a snowball almost 33 feet in circumference—the biggest snowball in the world—taking back a world record. Their accomplishment was confirmed by Guinness this month.
