Michigan Tech students have devised an ultra-violet light sensor that tells you when its time to take action to avoid sunburn.
The biomedical engineering seniors developed a skin patch imprinted with a graphic—in this case, a happy face design. The nickel-size patch gradually darkens under ultraviolet light, the type of light that causes sunburn and skin cancer. When you can't see the happy face anymore, it's time to get out of the sun.

For the eighth year in a row, the US Peace Corps has ranked Michigan Tech number one in the nation in Peace Corps Masters International program students serving overseas. Michigan Tech has 8 PCMI programs in colleges and schools across campus.
