Join a Youth Sports Camps
Michigan Tech Athletics and Recreation is hosting a full slate of youth sports camps for summer 2013. From hockey to mountain biking, individual to team camps, there are dozens of opportunities to learn from Michigan Tech's experienced coaching staff.
The full list of sports camp offerings includes basketball, cheer, dance, football, hockey, mountain biking, skating, soccer, tennis, and volleyball.

When the Happy Face Disappears, Go in the Shade
Michigan Tech students have devised an ultra-violet light sensor that tells you when its time to take action to avoid sunburn.
The biomedical engineering seniors developed a skin patch imprinted with a graphic—in this case, a happy face design. The nickel-size patch gradually darkens under ultraviolet light, the type of light that causes sunburn and skin cancer. When you can't see the happy face anymore, it's time to get out of the sun.
