The Mettler Toledo XP26 Micro Balance is a high-precision laboratory micro-balance designed for extremely fine weighing tasks. The XP26 model (or sometimes described as the “Excellence Plus XP26” / “Dual Range XP26” / “DeltaRange XP26”) supports very small resolution (decimal micrograms) while still having a weighing capacity up to tens of grams. It’s intended for applications where very small masses must be measured with high accuracy, for example, research labs, pharmaceutical dosing, chemical analysis, and maybe formulation of small sample amounts.
Capabilities
- Maximum capacity: ~22 g.
- Readability: 0.001 mg (1 µg) in many cases.
- Repeatability and linearity: For example, one spec says repeatability < ±0.0015 mg low and 0.0025 mg high load.
- Settling/response time: ~3.5 s for some models.
Internal calibration: The document notes “Fully automatic adjustment / ProFACT” - Draft shield(s): Since microbalances are sensitive to air currents, they come with glass draft shields and often an inner shield. The user manual indicates outer and inner draft shields.
- Interfaces/data output: Many models support RS-232, USB, and optional interfaces.
