The SPEX SamplePrep 8000M Mixer/Mill is a high-energy ball mill designed to pulverize, grind, blend, and mix laboratory samples, including hard and brittle materials like rocks and ceramics, or softer materials like plant and animal tissues. It achieves this by holding a sample and grinding media (balls) in a vial and shaking it with a high-velocity figure-eight motion, generating high G-forces to mill the sample to analytical fineness.
