Instrument Details

The Shimadzu TOC-VCSN with TNH-1 is a high-sensitivity analytical instrument designed to measure total organic carbon (TOC) and total nitrogen (TN) in liquid samples. TOC analysis provides a quantitative measure of organic pollutants or carbon-based compounds in water, while TN analysis identifies nitrogen-containing compounds such as nitrates, nitrites, and ammonia. The system combines Shimadzu’s combustion catalytic oxidation method with advanced detection technology to achieve precise, reliable results even for samples with low carbon and nitrogen concentrations. The VCSN model is a versatile benchtop analyzer that automates sample injection, combustion, and measurement processes, making it well-suited for laboratories conducting environmental monitoring, wastewater treatment evaluation, and quality control in industries such as pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and food and beverage production. When paired with the TNH-1 unit, the system performs simultaneous measurement of total organic carbon and total nitrogen, offering a comprehensive assessment of water quality in a single, efficient analysis.
