Health Research Institute

At Michigan Tech, researchers are tackling a variety of health-related challenges. Whether developing material for better wound care, creating vaccines, studying alcohol’s effects on the nervous system, designing a magnetoelastic sensor for use in an artificial knee, or growing stronger heart muscle cells faster and with less chance of rejection, Michigan Tech researchers are there.

The research is translational, interdisciplinary, and increasingly convergent. Health research at Michigan Tech encompasses biomedical, chemical, mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering, as well as materials science, biology, chemistry, cognitive and learning sciences, computer science, and kinesiology and integrative physiology.
