Biography
Dr. Xiaochu Ding is a research scientist for the Health Research Institute, and Research
Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry. He received his PhD in Chemistry
from
Michigan Technological University in 2013. Then, he pursued postdoctoral training
in Biomedical
Engineering at University of Pittsburgh in 2014-2017 and at Cornell University in
2017-2020. In
2021, he started to establish an independent lab at Michigan Tech. Dr. Ding was awarded
an
NIH R15 funding in 2023 to study polymeric biomaterials and bioresorbable synthetic
vascular
grafts for blood vessel regeneration.
Research
His research areas include polymeric biomaterials, drug delivery systems, electrospun
scaffolds,
and 3D-printing scaffolds for tissue repair/regeneration, such as synthetic vascular
grafts, blood
vessel regeneration and ischemia treatment.
