Lawsuits and Litigation Requests

The Office of General Counsel (OGC) represents and advises the Michigan Tech community, including the Board of Trustees, the President, the President's Council, and all University departments, on a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to compliance with federal and state laws, business agreements and contracts, employment issues, intellectual property matters, and University policies.

The OGC is also responsible for managing all litigation and other legal disputes to which Michigan Tech is a party and for hiring and overseeing all outside legal services provided to the University, when appropriate. The decision to hire outside counsel resides solely with the Office of General Counsel
