Service Orders

The Frontiers Research Institute (FRI), in collaboration with the Sponsored Programs Office, has developed a streamlined process for handling service orders.

To initiate a service order, simply complete the FRI Service Intake Form. The information you provide will allow the FRI administration team to prepare all required materials, including the budget, budget justification, statement of work, Cayuse record, and service order form. With this new process, you no longer need to submit an Intent to Submit Form. Instead, the FRI administration team will manage the processing and routing on your behalf.

Please note, if you are conducting research then you must fill out the Intent to Submit Form instead.

What is a service order?

A service order is for routine testing, standard data analysis, technical consulting, performing a pre-defined set of tasks, or generating a factual report and is typically through industry sponsors. The Sponsor will typically own the deliverable and any resulting IP -- the university is essentially acting as a vendor. Typically, researchers do not retain publishing rights.

Do I need to fill out an Intent to Submit Form with the Sponsored Programs Office?

No, you do not. However, if you are conducting research then you must fill out the intent to submit form.
