These awards are intended as strategic seed funding to position CEESIM members to pursue competitive external research grants. Awardees will be expected to leverage this support to develop and submit major external proposals through CEESIM and to acknowledge CEESIM support in resulting submissions and publications.

The $20,000 CEESIM LEAP Award (Leveraging Excellence for Advanced Proposals, a “mini-REF”–style award) is designed to provide concentrated support for a high-impact research effort aimed at generating a major external proposal. One LEAP Award will be made annually. The Principal Investigator selected for this award will be designated a CEESIM Fellow. The LEAP Award is intended to catalyze a substantial, externally funded research initiative aligned with CEESIM’s strategic priorities. The CEESIM Fellow will be expected to lead the development and submission of a major external proposal through CEESIM as a direct outcome of this support and to acknowledge CEESIM support in resulting submissions and publications.
